We were privileged to be involved in the launch of HONDO on VHS Video in the UK in 1995, especially because it came from BATJAC Studios which was still operated at the time by Michael Wayne (click here for HONDO Premiere report). The Film quickly rose to Number 1 in the sell-through UK Video charts; we were then approached by Polygram who were launching a series of John Wayne Videos in 1996 and they asked us to be involved in the Sales Campaign and Promotion of their John Wayne collection. The mid to late 1990's saw many John Wayne films become available for the first time on Video; the same period also saw the appearance and rise in popularity of DVD's, and for nearly all film buffs and collectors, they now prefer this format for watching Films; the image quality is far superior to the old Video format and the discs will not deteriorate as Video tape has done in the past. Combine this with the Extras and Special Features that are generally on most DVDs and it is a very convenient and attractive format. We are pleased that the Film Companies have been releasing the John Wayne Titles on DVD and now Blu-Ray, and we include here a list of currently available titles on Region 2 DVD.
